Katy Mann from Indianapolis With Kids shares how the iPhone 4S made a summer road trip to the East Coast easier and more fun.

I’m an iPhone fan. That’s not to say that it’s the only phone I’ll ever use but I love the feel of it in my hands, I love the smoothness of the screen as I swipe my finger across to unlock it, I love the heat it radiates as I use it for….everything!

The iPhone 4 changed the way I managed my life but the iPhone 4S (which I recently borrowed to facilitate this article) is a game changer for me. …

On a recent two week trip to the East Coast (yes, most of the east coast), my husband and I were blown away by the reliability of the Verizon network compared to that of a competing network that my husband is required to use for work. Without the Verizon network and the iPhone 4S, the streets of New York would have been impossible for us to navigate by vehicle. …

Everyone raves about Siri, and I do too! Not only is she entertaining but she provides a lot of hands free capabilities! I’m able to make phone calls, search for something, pull up my calendar and so much more without typing ANYTHING!

We shared with you earlier this month a story about Brian Poulter, an award-winning photographer, educator and professor of journalism at Eastern Illinois University, documenting his trip along the National Road with an iPhone 4S (disclosure: we provided Brian with the phone to use on his trip). As Brian wrapped up his trip, we caught up with him to learn more about his experience and the photo apps he used.

Before Brian left for his trip, he bought 32 different photo apps, played with them for about four weeks and narrowed those down to 12 he wanted to use. Two of his favorite apps were Camera+ and ProCamera.

He typically did the photo processing on an iPad because it has a bigger screen. Snapseed was Brian’s go-to app for photo processing. He also used Filterstorm Pro for processing, which is most similar to Photoshop. (more…)

I now know there could never be a bad vacation to Italy. The people, food and scenery are all so, so beautiful, and my wife and I have never been on a better vacation. Ten days just flew by, and every day was full of lasting memories.

However, thanks to Verizon, the trip was even better. I worried about staying in touch back home since both my wife and I have a parent we try to look after as much as possible. We also left behind two children and four grandchildren under three-and-a-half years of age, so we worried about being out of touch with them for too long.

But, my Verizon iPhone 4s kept me connected. Seldom were we without service, and it was easy to call home when needed — or for those at home to call us if needed. Text messaging made the six-hour time difference much less of an issue. In fact, my wife’s only complaint might have been that Verizon kept me so well connected that I spent more time using my phone than she wanted, even though I was loving every minute of it. (more…)

Have you ever wished you could travel across several states and document your journey to share your experience with the world? That’s exactly what Brian Poulter, an award-winning photographer, educator and professor of journalism at Eastern Illinois University, is doing. He’s traveling the National Road with a motorcycle sidecar and shooting photos and video with an iPhone 4S (disclosure: we provided Brian with the phone to use on his trip).

The National Road (aka the Cumberland Road, American Main Street and the National Pike) was the first Federal Works project. Conceived by George Washington, and started by Thomas Jefferson, the road eventually linked the east coast to the middle west, running from Cumberland, MD to Illinois’ early capital city, Vandalia. Previously, Brian has done photo projects on the Oregon Trail, the Mississippi River, and Northwest Canada and Alaska. (more…)

Thrilled. That was the feeling as I walked out of my local Verizon store. I had just picked up a brand new iPhone 4S. After a year of daily frustration with my old iPhone 3G on AT&T, I was exceedingly happy to finally have this new iPhone.

Three weeks later, I can honestly say this was one of the most valuable purchases I’ve made for my small business. I run a small design firm, Rocket No. 9, and work with dozens of clients across all time zones on their design and marketing needs. It is of utmost importance that my clients can reach me at all times, whether by phone, email, Twitter, Facebook, or whatever the newest social media channel may be. I also need to stay connected with my professional network of peers and associates to cultivate my business relationships.

My new iPhone 4S has made these goals not only attainable, but also easy to accomplish.

The speed of the iPhone 4S, coupled with the reliability and speed of Verizon’s network, has made it an indispensable tool when I’m not at my desk. With my old iPhone, tasks such as launching apps could take minutes. Now, it’s seconds. My productivity has sky-rocketed, which gives me more time for important tasks in the real world. (more…)
